Vintage Photo Friday. Decorating?

The Mrs.' Scull, Baker and Stewart of the Valley Benevolent Society, decorating for their Christmas Dance, "Symphony in Snowflakes."  December 1959.  Photo from LA Public Library, Valley Times Archives.

The holiday season is upon us.  Are you decorating your house?  Since Chanukah was so early this year, we almost forgot about it.  We did have latkes one night and lit the menorah candles on Thanksgiving with the family, but that's it.  No blue and white lights outside.  No silver tinsel inside.
A few years ago Larry constructed minimalist holiday light valences for our home.  One has red and green bulbs, the other blue and white.  They look very festive.  I'm hoping he puts them up this weekend.  Maybe he'll read this.  I hate to nag.

Have a wonderful "decorative" weekend!

Ours are up!

Kids always insist on a lighted archway over the walk up to the front door, which is fun...but not nearly as cool as Mr. Larry's light valences.

(oh, and we have a bit o' music too, still waiting for the ukeleleist to get home from school tho')
