Seen in the Desert

Desert Hot Springs Spa
We're just back from a weekend in the beautiful California desert. We drove to Beaumont on Friday morning and hit a few antique shops, then drove on to Desert Hot Springs to check out this piece of property for sale. We had lunch at the Desert Hot Springs Spa and then drove out to Jacquie's and Bob's house in La Quinta for the evening. The next day we all drove to 29 Palms for the Art Studio Tours. More about the weekend tomorrow. Here are a few photos from our journey.

Hi MX,
Yeah, well the photos make the property in Desert Hot Springs (Lautner Motel) look good. It's not that great in person. The place needs a lot of work and it's not in the greatest neighborhood. Oh well....it was fun to see and photograph. I'll be bloggin' about it more this week.
As always, thanks for the comment!

I guess my question is, if you're going to hunker down in a concrete bunker, why bother? It is an interesting looking building, though. I am much more interested in the crochet fashions--are you planning on making yourself that diagonal, x-marks-the-spot, dress out of the pink camo?

My question is, why go to the desert if you're going to hunker down in a concrete bunker? It is an interesting adaptation of FLW's ideas, though I'm not sure The Master would approve!
Are you planning on making that diagonal, x-marks-the-spot dress out of the pink camo RH? I think it might be a good look for you!

I was totally gonna ask if you bought the Lautner, but I guess not?! (Dude, it's Lautner.) If I were a trust funder I'd buy it, and we could all hang out there by the pool in the winter, sipping cosmos and waxing eloquent about the awesomeness of pink camo yarn!
