Jury Duty
the scales of justice
Ack! I've been calling in ALLL week and have been excused. Tomorrow (Thursday) I have to report to the Hollywood Court for jury duty. I guess I can take my crocheting, but might have the knitting confiscated. I'll bring plastic needles and see what happens.
Results of today's contest will be announced tomorrow evening.....after court!

Aw... if it's anything like the downtown court, don't risk it, bring a book instead. They're pretty strict on the knitting needles. :-( I just had jury duty a few weeks ago and I couldn't even get a crochet hook in.
Good luck tomorrow, hope you get out of the jury pool!
I had a different experience, I didn't try to bring anything in. But another lady brought her knitting needles in the the Federal court Downtown.
So I guess you'll just have to use your own judgment. Good luck!!
In my experience it's totally random if your hooks/needles are allowed or not. And lame. You can do more damage with a ball point than you can a crochet hook; just another way the man keeps us down. Ahem. The last time I was called I smuggled my Addi Turbo crochet hook in my Filofax, and it went through the scanner without a problem. (I hid the balls of yarn in my bag under my lunch, book and sweater.) Yeah, I'm totally guerrilla when it comes to jury duty. Hope you were allowed a little stitchin' time!
