Beyond Eden
On Saturday night Larry and I zoomed over to the L.A. Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park in East Hollywood. All of the Low-Brow art galleries got together for a group show. It was great!
Outdoor Painting The galleries represented were: Billy Shire Fine Arts, Black Maria Gallery, Carmichael Gallery, Copro Gallery, Crewest, DRKRM, Gallery 1988, Gallery Nucleus, La Luz de Jesus, LeBasse Projects, Subliminal Projects, Synchronicity Space and Thinkspace.
What a night! There was music, outdoor painting, tons of people, beverages, food trucks in the auto court of Aline Barnsdale's Hollyhock House and more!

You are just a bundle of energy. The show looks like loads of fun.
I was going to say something else, but Ellen, you are a bundle of energy! I so admire that about you.
I like that odd stitch pattern on that sweater. Very interesting ...
Where's Babette?! Kidding. Waiting though ...
What a great event, wish i could have been there. And darn I wish I hadn't clicke don the coolhaus link.
also- any idea of the fabric applique artist's name?
the art was ok you have to like the lowbrow thing to begin with. The overall installation of many of the galleries seemed sloppy and crowded. Also not crazy the artist village seemed juvenile a better execution would go along way to putting this show on par with the established art fairs that they seemed to want to compete with.
I tried bacon ice cream for the first time this year. Delicious!
I *love* the gear art piece. And of course, the Monkey piece. Thanks so much for sharing
Art shmart...
Now let's get down to it.
