Rivera
On Saturday, Thane and Carol invited us, along with a few lucky others, to celebrate Carol's birthday at Rivera Restaurant, downtown L.A.
Laaa-deee-dah!!! Wow! This place is a stand-out! The decor is faboo, the drinks are intoxicating and the food is AMAZING!!! We had an 8pm reservation for our table of 8. We did have to wait almost 45 minutes to be seated. It seems that the party occupying our table was having just too much fun to be rushed. Oh well....we were starving, but when you're experiencing a place like Rivera, you really don't want to hurry!
Thane and Carol did most of the ordering. We had the most innovative food courses. See the slide show below and pass your cursor over each picture for a food description.
It was a lovely evening! Thank you to our most gracious hosts!

That looks like a wonderful food adventure - and a delightful birthday!
Looks totally upscale - so gourmet. I got hungry just looking at the slide show and had to settle for a couple bites of plain yogurt (blah).
You are so popular! It's because you are such a fun lady. It looks like you had a great time.
It was so much fun celebrating with you and Larry! Thanks for documenting our evening!
OMG! My stomach is a-rumblin'.
Great party.
What great documentation of a lovely and delicious evening!!
What fun. I don't know which I like better - the "tasty tequila drink" or the use of the border crossing sign on their plates. Both amuse me considerably.
Fancy, shmancy!
