Yarny Photo Workshop
Early this morning, Natalie, Ana and I drove up to Santa Barbara to attend Gale Zucker's Photography Workshop for Knitters at the Loop & Leaf yarn shop. The workshop was wonderful...lots of very useful information and a few eye-opening tips and tricks. Gale sure knows her stuff! The Loop & Leaf is a beautiful shop in a historic bungalow. The selection of yarn was amazing. We started out class with a slide show of Gale's photos inside the shop. She showed us the difference between good and better shots, gave us some lighting tips and generally told us how to control a photo shoot.
Then, we went outside and she gave us some photo exercises. We looked at differences in finding the light and using different types of backgrounds and light reflectors.

Then, we took out some of our own knitted and crocheted items and photographed them in different ways outside. I must say, just the few tips I absorbed gave me some fairly wonderful shots today. Thanks, Gale!

After class, we met up with writer, Joan Tapper and all had a delicious lunch. It was a great day and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to take Gale's workshop!
