Lunch in a Train Station
On Sunday we celebrated Mary Jo's birthday. I believe she's STILL celebrating today! I met the KnitGrrlz at La Grande Orange Cafe in Pasadena. The building had once been the Del Mar train station for Pasadena and is now in the center of the LA Metro Pasadena station and parking structure. There are a few different restaurants in the station, but we opted for a late brunch at the Cafe.
The interior has been restored to it's beautiful 1935 splendor...hard wood floors, paneling, tiled entryways and Spanish Revival architecture. The brunch/lunch menu is varied, with lots of emphasis on cocktails!
Mary Jo and Natalie
We started with an order of the Deviled Eggs...divine! The birthday girl ordered the Short-Rib Taco plate (it was huge); Brit and Darcy had Huevos Rancheros and I had the Del Mar Sea Food Salad. Sadly, Natalie chose this week for her Master Cleanse and only had a pot of tea with us. For dessert, we shared a gorgeous slice of Key Lime Pie.
After lunch we proceeded to Mary Jo's beautiful garden for our giftie extravaganza and a bit o' kinitting and/or crochet! I didn't get photos of every single gift...there were lots of them!
It was a beautiful, fun-filled afternoon with the Ladies. We declared that we really should do this more often!

I love getting together with my ladies. It was a great day even if I missed out on the food.
Another great day in LA!

Natalie has the resolve I only dream of having. Srsly. How can you be in the same room as the food and not have any? I only look at the pictures and I'm salivating!
Those deviled eggs looks delicious!
I really need to ck out this relatively new restaurant here in Pasadena. Your article just add more motivation. How's the pricing?
To Cafe Pasadena. Click on the restaurant link in the post for the menu and prices.
