Kitty Crochet
I managed to crochet a kitty-tribute potholder before the 4th of July to gift to my friends, Carol and Thane who recently lost their cat, Milo. I do love this pattern. It's actually a square for an afghan called "Cats Squared." I crocheted a striped piece for the back and joined the two pieces together to make a hot-pad or potholder.
Carol and Thane recently adopted a new kitty with a heart-shaped fur mark. Max, aka Maximilien Luce Prescott-Tierney. Max has absconded with my potholder and uses it as a sort of prayer rug.

Very cute! BTW, have you seen these? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/starburst-vintage-inspired-crochet-cushion-pillow-cover. I thought they were lovely. In one of the pic's, they look like those crochet covered stones.
Love the curly tail!
Thanks for your comments, Ladies! This is a fairly easy pattern. You should give it a try!
My baby! He loves his potholder, and only wishes he had opposable thumbs so he could use it for his intended purpose!
Awww...so glad that Max is cozying up to the new cotton prayer rug!
