Happy New Year - 2013

After spending the morning in front of the TV watching the Rose Parade, having a late breakfast and generally lolling around the house, we decided that we needed to get some air.

We drove downtown for a snick-snack at Philippe's.  We split a dipped beef sandwich and had some of their delicious lemonade.  I was low on my home supply of Philippe's hot mustard too, so I replenished our supply.

Then, we drove over to L.A.'s Grand Park.  We really hadn't experienced it yet.  Grand Park runs from the Music Center to City Hall. It steps down the hill each block.  There are beautiful planting areas representing the many countries that Angelenos hail from, fountains, statues, walkways and convenient tables and benches.  Others had the same idea.  It was a perfect, chilly afternoon to explore Los Angeles' new public area.

Larry and I were married at City Hall almost 21 years ago.  On that rainy day in March we had our photo taken with the City Hall in the background.  Sweet Larry carries the photo in his wallet.  Today, we tried to re-create that photo.  We're way older, but just as happy.
Happy New Year my friends!

Happy new year to you, and happy almost-anniversary, too! Love your photos--maybe I'll have to trek downtown one of these days!
