WIPs
Oh! I have soooo many WIPs (Works in Progress). Sometimes we call these "procrastination projects" because we really ought to get back to working on our major projects, but don't want to!
This week's "P" projects are the Hexie Handbag and yet another "It's a Wrap" shawl.
I saw the handbag pictured below on someone's blog or on Ravelry, I'm not sure. I really like the placement of the hexagons to make a shallow bag. I've finished making all the hexies, but now I'm having trouble putting it all together. I realized that one of my hexagons had seven sides, not six! That's what happens when you don't have a pattern or a schematic to follow! Argh! To calm my nerves and frustration I started crocheting another shawl to add to my holiday gift duffle bag for December 2009. This one is crocheted with a size "G" hook in Blue Heron beaded rayon in the colorway "Kelp." I picked up this gorgeous skein at the Ultimate Point LYS in La Quinta when we were there last month. The drape is fabulous. What projects are you working on right now?

My pile is actually not *too* bad right now! Sunrise Circle Jacket, which is a long-term project (the gauge is so tight I can't work on it for long stretches at a time). A pair of socks, hibernating while I decide what to do about the imperfect fit. Another pair of socks (really footsies), one done and the other to be cast on next time I need a mindless project. And a lace shawl, which is nearly finished! Once that one is done I am allowing myself to cast on a baby gift. And I have yarn for a short-sleeved sweater which I have swatched, but I'm not feeling an immediate need to cast on. SO unlike me!
I am in the middle of my "get back into crocheting" throw and already have plans to start a shawl/wrap! Thanks so much for the inspiration and California Dreamin'!

That purse is going to be beautiful!
I'm hitting the wall when it comes to the Vintage Vertical Stripe Blanket I'm working on and picking up any project I can as a distraction. Need to get my nose back to the grindstone, er, pile of wool.
My WIPs are also pretty much under control right now. I'm currently about 75% of the way through a Juliet Cardigan and have a pair of Monkey socks on the go. I also have to finish this Clapotis that I started in July last year! Apart from that, I have nothing else on the needles, which is really very unusual for me!!
I'm loving your shawl!
WIPs oh please don't make me list them. Let's just say I always got something in the bag. Now the hexie bag is super duper duper cute. You will totally have that bag worked out in no time and a couple more, if I know you.
That hexagon bag is going to be fabulous! Those colors!
Right now I really ought to finish crocheting a baby hat for a friend. Baby arrived over the weekend and it's a good thing I was aiming for 6 mo - 1 yr old size (over 9 lbs and 20" long - rosy, plump, healthy, full head of hair, a real heart-melter)! And I'd like to get the hat sent off before this child is walking!
Love the hexibag! I may need to procrastinate soon and this is great!!!
Currently I am finishing up 3 new patterns for TNNA in June, but at the moment, I am committing death by gumi bears. Just bought a 3 POUND bag of them at Target and I have already overdosed without even making a dent!
I have a tank top that appears to have entered the black hole phase (knit endlessly and no changes), a few partially finished socks that I'm bored with, and a stealth knitting project with a deadline that I am really hating because of the yarn. So of course, to make myself feel better I cast on another sock!
I'm in the middle of making 10 mini sweaters for an art/craft show I'm going to be in next weekend! I have 7 done. I wrote a pattern for a mini cardigan in addition to the pullover. I have Tang by Wendy Bernard in Malabrigo worsted about 1/3 finished, and a pair of socks about 2/3 finished. But those have been on my needles for AGES. I have a bunch of things in my queue on ravelry but I really need to finish the stray projects. Not too many to finish up, I think!
I saw this gorgeous crochet bag today and thought of you. One of my customers is making it in Mission Falls Cotton and shared the link with me: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet-bag.html
I love the bag! And I'm thinking I want to make one of those shawls. You know how I love my shawls...
I am working on a sweater from the latest Crochet Today and finishing up two Lady Eleanor Stoles. I am also weaving, spinning, sewing...you know the drill.
Hi Ellen,
I've just been catching up on your blog after a couple of months away.
I linked to it on my own blog so I can do a better job of keeping up. Here it is.

So, on my needles: another Noro striped scarf, a February Lady sweater in blue Malabrigo, purple socks in Knitty's Spring Forward pattern (for my SIL), and a knitted hat for a swap I'm in.
More details are on my blog - please visit!
Cheers,
Brenda (Goodstuff on Ravelry)
