Anniversary Celebration
Larry and I had a wonderful Anniversary celebration yesterday. We started out early and zoomed down to Long Beach. Neither of us had ever been to the Aquarium It was a cloudy day that turned sunny, so it was perfect to traipse around the waterfront and observe all of the sea life. The Long Beach Aquarium does not compare to the grandeur of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but it's an excellent learning space for the many school children that visit everyday.
We saw some beautiful fish and lively otters, sea lions, sharks and more. The outdoor areas are very creative. There are lots of helpful docents nearby to answer marine biology questions. We saw lots of birds. The gift shop was quite extensive too.
After our marine exposure, we walked across the plaza and had some chowder and shrimp tacos at Bubba Gump's....another chain restaurant, heavy on the corny movie memorabilia, I'd never been to. It was perfect for a quick lunch.
Next, we drove a few blocks from the Aquarium into downtown Long Beach to check out Fingerprints Record Shop. This is a legendary shop in the area. It's huge and they have an excellent selection of used and new music.
Grilled Salmon and Veggies
It was a perfect topper to a wonderful anniversary celebration. Thanks so much for all of your good wishes!
It's Mardi Gras weekend at the Original Farmers Market. Be sure and come on down to pass a good time, y'all.

We came back to Mid-City L.A. to regroup and figure out what where we wanted to go in the afternoon and for dinner that night. We decided to see one of the Oscar nominated movies that we'd missed, "The Black Swan." It was good, but terrifying. After the movie we went for dinner at one of our old favorites, where we knew we'd have a fantastic meal....The Metro Cafe in Culver City. The food is ALWAYS fantastic at The Metro.
