Summer Wedding
The family wedding we attended in Santa Barbara this past weekend was truly a wonderful event! Well, we attended two events actually. On Friday evening there was a post-wedding rehearsal dinner event for guests that came up to Santa Barbara early. This was at the bride's parents' home. The father of the bride, Andy is my 2nd cousin. Andy's mother, Metta and my father, George were first cousins. Andy and his wife Adrianne live on a scenic hilltop above Santa Barbara. From one side of the house you can see the ocean, from the other side you can see the City. Luckily, it was a pleasant evening for sitting in the patio, meeting many of the other wedding guests and participants.

The big event was Saturday afternoon. We gathered at 3:30 at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum to witness the wedding of Gena and Alex. The Museum grounds are rustic and definitely evoke old California. It's a perfect setting for a wedding.
Reception in the Courtyard
After the ceremony, presided over by the bride's Aunt (my cousin), Jo Ellen, we all moved into the courtyard of the Museum for the reception. There was a 10-piece smokin' band, fabulous food, lots of wine and champagne and much celebrating!
My heartfelt congratulations to the bride and groom!
