Vintage Photo Friday

My friend and co-worker, Gina, recently showed me some vintage photos that her Father had unearthed. They are all FANTASTIC! Gina's family owned and operated Balian's Markets in the Los Angeles area. The Market was opened in 1926 at 5469 West Adams Blvd. near Hauser St., L.A. This building is still a grocery store called Advance Foods. Subsequently, other Balian's Markets opened around the city. I remember the one on Venice Blvd. in Culver City. It was our go-to deli-service counter for take-out food!
The family also owns an ice cream company. You may remember the red and white striped little containers if you attended L.A. City schools. The Balians also produced a fancy ice-cream called Franilla. Those pictures are for another day!
Sounds like a perfect time to have some yummy summer ice-cream! Have a great weekend.
