Vintage Photo Friday

Gilmore Stadium, 1947. Carroll Photo Service, Herald Examiner Collection

Gilmore Stadium was near the Original Farmers Market on Fairfax and Beverly Blvd., where CBS-TV City now stands in Los Angeles.  Many football and baseball games were played here.  The dirt oval surrounding the field was used for auto and motorcyle racing.  You can read about the history of Gilmore Stadium here
All eyes will be on either the TV or at the Superdome in New Orleans for this Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII.  All eyes but mine, that is.  I have a brunch planned for the morning and will enjoy a restful day at home doing chores, knitting, crocheting and cooking.  Of course, I'll have the game on the big screen, but I'll only zoom into the room to watch the highly-touted super commercials!
Do you have super plans for super Sunday?
