Road Trip
For the next few days Larry and I are preparing for our grand road trip. Final destination - Port Townsend, Washington. Our friends, Leah and Nancy live in Port Townsend. Leah and I will be attending the Port Townsend Ukulele Festival. I look forward to learning some new uke tricks!
We plan to take our time traveling north. First stop is Sacramento. I love traveling by car. It's always great to stop and view all roadside highlights! Let me know if you have any must-sees for us along the way.
Our lovely neighbors on BOTH sides of our house will be looking after the estate so we can be carefree and enjoy our trip!
Blogging will be spotty for the next few weeks, but check in with me on Facebook for updates!
We're not in Los Angeles anymore! |

Port Townsend is adorable, you will love it! Chico is a fun little college town, not far from Sacramento, Shasta Dam outside of Redding is fascinating, Ashville Or. is fun, you may want to see if you can catch a play, they now have them year round. Portland is a must! And of course Seattle, you probably could get around Seattle but why? It's worth the stop.
Have the bet time in the world. Im sure youll return home with at least one new ukulele to remember the expereience with. There is nothing like having an immersion experience with folks of like mind. You come out of it inspired and fueled up! I look forward to a complete log of your trip and the festival.
If you're taking your time, I highly recommend getting out to the coast to 101 rather than I-5 all the way.
In Oregon, we love the dunes...Florence, which is about an hour due west of Eugene, is our favourite little coastal town.
If you take 101 over the top of Washington to get to and/or leave from PTownsend, anything in Olympic Nat'l Park is fantastic (it's like going back to the '50's in many ways). We especially dig Lake Ozette.
Have fun!

From Seattle near Pikes Place Market, take a short ferry ride to Bainbridge Island and visit the most charming & inspirational yarn shop, Churchmouse Yarns & Teas. Travel yarn!!!!
Happy road tripping!
