New Year's Day
Traditionally, on New Year's Day, after watching the Rose Parade and having a late breakfast, Larry and I try to visit a park, the beach or some bit of nature in the City. This year, Larry chose to visit the South Coast Botanic Garden in Rancho Palos Verdes. Neither of us had been there.
The sun was in and out of the clouds, so it was a perfect day for some heavy walking. The Garden is lovely. It's rather large. We walked the perimeter and stopped in at a few of the specific gardens. Of course, my favorite was the Children's Discovery Garden. It was filled with broken down storybook characters and small scale houses. So cute!
I believe this is Little Bo Peep, wrangling her sheep! |
It's those careless kittens who have lost their mittens |
Miss Muffet. Apparently a Tuffet is a pumpkin! |
We also toured the dry lake, the banyan trees, the cactus garden and stopped in the patio to hear an annoying d.j.
Happy New Year, 2018! |
The gift shop and nursery are small, but filled with interesting items.
