Lots to do this weekend...WeHo SnB, Saturday 10-noon @ The Original Farmers Market; Fairview Knitters Group, Santa Monica, 3:30 -5:15; NELA Art Crawl in Highland Park, 7-10pm. The most important task of all is to do all the grocery shopping for our Mother's Day brunch this Sunday!
Mom, El Paso, Texas - 1944
Ellen, Mom, Ken - 1956
I'm lucky Mom is still with us. Roz is strong, healthy and forever the social butterfly! She and my step-dad will be coming for brunch at our house this Sunday. Of course, there will be gifties, mimosa and much fun. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

Yes, you are very lucky indeed. My question though is how did they get their hair to do those things??
Hoping to make it to Fairview on Saturday.
Hahahah! Jo Anne...you are so funny. I used to ask my Mom how she got her hair in that reverse pompador!
She told me that she used this thing called a "rat." It was like a big spongey roller. You could buy them in "hair" colors. You pinned it to your head, ratted up the bang hair and then smoothed it over and around the rat. Sounds rather intricate!
I love the collar on the jacket she's wearing in her 1943 studio photo. Very chic. What was your mother doing in El Paso in 1944? You two have the same smile. Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
What a lovely picture of you and your mom.
Have a lovely brunch together!
You are your Mom are both so pretty together. Nice! Will you be together on Mother's Day?
Love the two of you together! So stylish...as evidenced in all the photos.
Have a great celebration.
Hope you enjoy a great day with your Mom. You are so blessed to haver her! Wishing that mine was still here to share with.
