David Amico
On Friday, Larry and I attended the reception of artist, David Amico's latest work. The opening was at the Ace Gallery in Beverly Hills, entitled "Drift-Trace Paintings." It was a stellar event, attended by loads of movers and shakers. The gallery is located in a former bank building on Wilshire Blvd. in the center of Beverly Hills. All of the bank offices and cubicles have been removed. The space consists of 3 large rooms.
I've known David since we were teenagers and art students at Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts. I'm very proud of David's choices and advances he has made in his career.
Below are some snapshots of the event:

I love your friend David's work. I love that it is graphic and yet organic. Really visually interesting. Are you sure you were just friends? Maybe you had a little crush? You are looking very doe-y eyed in that photo.
I've seen exhibits at both the L.A. and Beverly Hills locations. They're spectacular venues where the art can really speak for itself.
I'm glad to see your friend is doing so well.
Hahaha! Natalie! Yes, I was looking a little doe-y eyed in that last picture. It was a posed photo for one of the photography students at camp. We were told to hold a "cozy" pose!
Those were the days....we were so young!
Funny, David was one of the painting teachers at Claremont when I was an MFA student there. Is he still teaching at CGU I wonder??? Small world as usual.
Ellen, I am dying to see more pictures of you through the years!! Those are awesome :)
Congratulations David on your recent show, Stumbled upon this website, Idyllwild varsity painting forever!
