More Mardi
Yesterday was Fat Tuesday. We headed over to the Farmers Market ONCE AGAIN for the final celebration! Eddie Baytos and the Nervis Bros. were performing right in front of the Gumbo Pot Restaurant. We heard more great Mardi Gras songs. There were lots of people....many re-located Lousianans (is that a word?). We met up with Joan....had dinner, heard some tunes, did a little dancin' and that was it. The Festival Season is offcially over! Phew! I'm exhausted.
Over the weekend, in-between celebrations, I managed to start yet another knit project. I reviewed Wendy Bernard's book, "Custom Knits" awhile back. One of the knitters in my Fairview group, Heather, is working on Wendy's "Favorite Cardigan." It really looks great. I decided to cast on with some mystery yarn in my stash. Of course, I'll be making MY version of this cardigan....longer, wider and not off-the-shoulder. We'll see how it turns out.

Ooo, I love the flecks of color in the yarn you're working with! Can't wait to see the finished result!
The tweediness of the yarn is a nice touch. Me likey.
Now let's dish. That photograph of the model in sweater is so funny. Who stands like that? And really who dresses like that? Is she a pirate midriffed at sea?
It is one of those pictures where the sweater is far more compelling than the model.
Ellen, thanks for the shout out. If you're coming on Saturday, bring your sweater and we'll talk mods.
"a pirate midriffed at sea"!! Oh, snap, that's funny. Yeah, I think those of us on the finer side of 30 should keep our hipbones covered...
