The Sun Came Out
When it rains in Los Angeles, people stay home. The minute the rain stops, everyone comes out of the woodwork. It rained all day and night on Friday. By Saturday morning, the sun was peeking in and out of the clouds, the air was fresh and everyone hit the streets.
After celebrating Ice Cream for Breakfast Day with a lovely bowl of chocolate chip ice cream topped with Special K, I ran some errands in the morning, then Larry and I went over to the Bluebird Cafe in East Culver City for lunch. The Bluebird is usually only open on weekdays, but I suppose, during these difficult economic times, they've decided to stay open 7 days a week. Excellent for us, because we love this little hidden gem in the Hayden Tract of South/East Culver City. I had the BEST tuna melt I've ever had. Larry had a breakfast paninni.
They also make the most faboo cupcakes at the Bluebird. You really must check out this place.
Since January was such a long month, we had an extra Saturday thrown in. It was a good meeting, many newcomers showed up! Karen was working on some crocheted hats for donation.....very cute!

Later in the afternoon I went to an impromptu, unscheduled meeting of the Fairview Knitters in Santa Monica. We have a Ravelry group now, so it's easier to disseminate information for group members. We usually meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, 3:30-5:30 at the Fairview Branch of the Santa Monica Library (Ocean Park & 21st St.).

Ooooo...Special K on ice cream??? That's a new one for me but it sounds good!
I could really go for a tune melt right now. I am soooo hungry.
Mmmmmmmm. Breakfast panini. Hey, LOVE the sweater you're wearing! I can't tell - is that a FLS with modified collar, or something altogether different?
Way to celebrate!
