Summer!

Neighbor's Bougainvillea, in my yard. Thank you!

It's almost summertime in L.A., although you'd barely recognize it! Our "May Grey" has turned into "June Gloom." Personally, I really like June Gloom, because I know that we will experience really hot temperatures without relief, come August and September.
All of this grey, cloudy weather has prompted me to knit and crochet with bright colors! I started and finished a few quick projects over the weekend, using lots of colorful yarn!
Save the Earth Market Bag
Guitar Pick Case
"It's a Wrap" Shawl, Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn
"Isar" Scarf (Raverly), Vanna's Choice Baby Yarn

Beautiful fresh fruit is showing up at the local farmers markets too! Enjoy the gloom before the scorching begins!

The colors of that Bougainvillea are gorgeous - lucky you! I love all the yarns you chose for your projects too - boy, you've been busy!

I have been enjoying the "May Gray" and now the "June Gloom" too. I know that hot weather is on its way and all too soon.

What a great photo of the bougainvillea! Showed it to my mom who's very into gardens/flowers too!

I set it as the tiled desktop across my double monitor work setup so I can enjoy it every day :)

Love your projects, especially the first two from the same yarn. Love how the market bag came out with vertical waving stripes! Need to stalk your Ravelry page to find out what yarn it was.

Here comes the summer! I love our June gloom. Except that it makes me sleepy. Or maybe that's just lunch. Anyhoo, love all your bright, luscious photos.

And our CAL kicks off today, too. Woot.

GUH. Gray/gloom really depress me, and I'm freezing all the time, so I keep reminding myself of the coming dog days of summer but it doesn't help!! :)

LOVE that noro shawl. The colors and sheen are *gorgeous*.

And the bougainvillea is amazingly beautiful; do the neighbors also clean up the leaves (petals?) when they fall? If not, it's a small price to pay for such colorful (orange! your favorite color!) beauty.

Colorful post! I totally love our June weather, the way it softens colors and is so comfortable. (I am not looking forward to the blistering hot weather of late summer along with all the smog). Now I have to run to the frig for some Raspberries, your fruit looks yummy.

The shawl looks just like the bougainvillea cascading over the fence, so wonderful!

I love the May Gray/June Gloom too! I cannot handle 365 days of sun, so it is a welcome change in my book. I know most Angelenos cannot stand it and often grumble during the over cast months of late spring. Also, I am loving the colors in your market bag.

Love all those projects, especially that market bag!! I'm obsessed with market bags these days. I really like the zigzag effect.
