Preparations
Yes, we're still celebrating Chanukah, but Christmas is upon us. Above is the Christmas tree displayed at the Original Farmers Market. I love the ornaments of miniature shopping baskets!
Many of our neighbors have added holiday lights to their houses. The most spectacular one is a few blocks from us. There are bobbing pink flamingos on the front lawn....so tropical!

Yes, the season is upon us! What have you done to spruce (pardon the pun) your house for the holidays?

Other people just throw on lights from the drug store...however, they are still festive.
Larry has devised a minimalistic approach to our outside decorations. Over each window he has mounted a piece of moulding that has big light bulbs attached. Two of the windows have red and green bulbs for Christmas. One window has blue and white bulbs for Chanukah. It's simple, but effective. We've fussed a bit more inside the house.
The holiday cards have started to roll in. We've added a few poinsettias and some lights inside the house too.

I'm loving all your holiday touches. Sounds like you are celebrating Chanukahmas! That is what my sister calls it.
I love the flamingos. One of my neighbors does a sleigh with 8 flamingos instead of reindeer.
Oh I love the idea of 8 flamingos pulling a sleigh.
At my house we just have a wreath on the door. But maybe, just maybe we will get a tree tomorrow night or this coming weekend. However, it does look like Santa's workshop in the house. Yarn & fabric everywhere.
Nice tiki collection! Do they have a history?
I love the way your place is decorated - it's like holiday-time, all the time!
