Endeavour
Endeavour Holes Up at Randy's |
There are BIG PLANS pending to move the historic space shuttle, Endeavour from the L.A. Airport to Exposition Park, near USC. A couple of weeks ago, Endeavour was sitting, piggy-back style, on a specially equipped airplane as it zoomed around the Southern California area before it landed at LAX.
The City is cutting down trees, closing off street access and more to assure that Endeavour has a safe land journey to Expo Park. There will be a few viewing areas along the route, but there are many restrictions.
The best place to see Endeavour will be at it's final resting place, the California Science Center. HOWEVER, if you'd like to see a darling little model of Endeavour, get on over to Randy's Donuts, on the corner of Manchester and La Cienega, near LAX. In honor of this huge L.A. event, the owners at Randy's constructed a model of Endeavour and stuck it into the hole of the big doughnut, atop their building.
This must be Randy's Prius! |
I drove over there on Saturday just to photograph this tribute. Many other Angelenos had the same idea!

I look forward to visiting the Endeavour when it finally arrives at the California Science Center. It's Metro-close!

Now you are in my neck of the woods! Didn't know about the model at Randy's. Friday I plan to take my grandson, Gabriel, up to Sepulveda in Westchester to try to get "up close and personal" with the Endeavor while it is parked behind Quizno's!
