Festive 4th and 5th of July
Inglewood Neighborhood Fireworks |
We had a very BBQ-centric holiday weekend! On the 4th of July we went to Carol's and Thane's home for a BBQ potluck and fireworks extravaganza. Carol and Thane live in Inglewood. The neighborhood is crazy for fireworks! Every year the displays change and get better. This year was no exception. Instead of massive amounts of fireworks being shot off at the circle park nearby, neighbors were shooting off their own fantastic displays right in front of their houses! We didn't know where to look first! Lights, missiles and sparklers were going off all around us. Add in the jets landing at nearby LAX, and it was an apocalyptic experience!

Thank you, Carol and Thane for once again showing us the true, patriotic meaning of the 4th of July: Lots of noisy, pretty lights and good eats! To see a few more photos of our Inglewood party, click here.
THEN, on the 5th of July we zoomed down to Los Alamitos for a Beverly Hills High School Class Reunion Committee Party. Even though our reunion was 4 years ago, the committee members LOVE getting together at least once a year to compare notes and catch up on class gossip.

Rob and Deb Feldman were our hosts. They have a perfect home for entertaining. In fact, the day before our get-together, 50 people were in their backyard for the 4th of July. Rob and Deb live very close to the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base and the Los Alamitos Race Track. The Base puts on a stellar fireworks display for everyone in the neighborhood to enjoy.
We enjoyed another wonderful potluck BBQ, laughs and reuniting with old friends. To see more photos from the 5th of July BHHS celebration, click here. Thanks, Rob and Deb for hosting a grand celebration!

I'm happy to be back in my air-conditioned office so I can rest up after all those parties! Life is tough.
