Big Daddy Bill @Amoeba!
It was hot, hot, hot on Sunday in Los Angeles. We decided to duck into Amoeba Music in Hollywood to enjoy the air/conditioning and listen to the specially curated deejay set by my ol' radio friend, Bill Gardner!

When I co-hosted the "Friday Night Blues Revue" with John "Juke" Logan on KPCC-FM, Bill Gardner's "Rhapsody in Black" came right after our show. Juke and I often stayed at the station late to check out Bill's guests. Bill is an original! He went to high school with many L.A. rock 'n roll royalty, such as Arthur Lee May, Richard Berry and Johnny "Guitar" Watson. Check out the history of Jeff-Hi and scroll down to see all of the talented people who graduated from this notable L.A. high school.
Bill spinned sides from the 30's, 40's, 50's and '60's. People were boppin' in the aisles. It was great running into my old radio homies, shopping for records and hangin' with the cool Krewe at Amoeba!
There's so much
to see at Amoeba. This place is a feast for the eyes as well as the
ears! The only problem, for me, no yarn. Hahahaha!
Larry managed to find a couple of cool exotica records.

It's a good thing Amoeba doesn't stock yarn - I'd live there!
