Lava Lawn
The front lawn is gone |
Maybe Larry was inspired by the recent volcano activity near Hilo, Hawaii? Last weekend he dug up some weeds, trimmed a few plants and placed black wood bark chips on what used to be our front lawn. It's rather dramatic. He also moved some flagstone (courtesy of our neighbors to the south) to the edge of the lawn to provide a stepping place next to the driveway of our neighbors to the north. Who knows? It may rain some more this winter and we wouldn't want our friends to sink into our lava lawn.

All we need now are a few more boulders, some succulent plants and a narrow flagstone path across the lawn.
I like it. Thanks, Larry!
