Monkeys from "Crochet Today" Magazine
Last night's WeHo SnB was great. We always have a good time. Catherine referred to some of the half-sentences overheard last night on her post today. I really love our Thursday meeting. I look forward to it all week.
Considering the holidays are close and everyone is getting busy, there were lots of knitters and crocheters present: Kendra, LaurieAnn, Faith, Natalie, Alicia, Jennifer, Abby, Kim, Jeffrey and more....sorry if I forgot to mention you! An excellent way to keep up with the WeHo SnB group is to check out the blogs on the WeHo SnB Ring.
Faith brought the latest issue of "Crochet Today" magazine. There's a darling little monkey pattern in it.

Instructions for Monkey Doll

Speaking of crocheted figures, dolls, animals, etc., I've been furiously working on a project for our holiday greeting card. Every year Larry and I trade off on which of us art-directs our card. Last year, Larry photoshopped and designed a clever card using a map of our neighborhood and a proposed HPOZ theme. In past years we've dressed up in Santa outfits, posed in our red '63 Dodge Dart in front of the Disney Hall, I've painted parodies of us in Chagall, Matisse or Picasso paintings, etc. I'm trying to come up with something different this year. Hopefully, it will turn out.

Preview of Ellen's & Larry's Holiday Card
Busy weekend ahead. I have to run over to the Santa Monica Swap Meet on Saturday morning. Then, Rhoda and I are attending the WAHA Progressive Holiday Dinner. It's a home tour and dinner in the Victoria Park area of West Adams. The houses participating are all restored to their Victorian elegance. It should be fascinating and delicious.
Sunday is the Highland Park Christmas Parade. Our friends, Amy and Stuart of Future Studio always participate. Hope you have a marvelous weekend!
