Favorite Place

Where do you sit when you knit or crochet?
My favorite place is in the curved center section of my sectional sofa, with sunlight streaming through the living room window. The TV and stereo are across the room, making this the perfect veg-out / procrastination project spot in our house. The photo shows a perfectly neat and tidy area. This rarely occurs. The couch is usually piled up with my various WIPs. Typically, there are yarn scraps all over the floor and the coffee table is often overflowing with papers and books, along with knitting needles, crochet hooks, scissors, cups, glasses, the TV Guide, etc.

How does your craft place look?

Beautiful couch. Really. And I was happy to hear that it doesn't always look that way...

Sister, you have just graced me with my next blog post.

Okay. Those dolls? Sitting together on the sofa? TOO MUCH!

The dolls on my couch are the "Ellen and Larry" dolls that I crocheted for last year's holiday card. Thanks for the compliments!

You can see a close-up of the dolls by cutting and pasting this link:

Hmmm. My most-often knitting spot is usually a table at Starbucks or Coffee Bean with my knitster friends! My house is currently in the stage where the old sofa, love seat, and icky chairs have left the premises and the boxes containing the new stuff aren't quite unpacked. Did I mention that I live in an Urban Renewal Zone that begins at the front door and ends at the back of the lot?

Ellen, I don't list web sites on my blog, but I DID mention you in today's post. Just thought you would like to know.

And you don't have to reciprocate! LOL!

Have a great day.

I love your couch! I can almost picture the entire house from this pic and it's just my kind of place.

The dolls are the most perfect and adorable things I've ever seen.

Thanks so much for sharing!

You have a delish place to crochet and knit!

Of course I'm coveting your sectional sofa, you know that, right? Is it too dorky to ask - original fabric or Diamond Foam and Fabric? (and do you know a good reupholsterer?)

Your dolls make my heart glad.

You've seen my stash pad...

Glad to see that the stuffed Ellen and Larry are represented.

I love your couch, too! Where can I get one?

Hi Sarah,
Our couch was an estate sale find. It's from a home near ours. The owner was a costume designer for the movies. She had afghans covering the couch, so it was in really good condition. The couch is a 4-piece sectional, probably made in the early 1960's. Thanks for the compliments!
