Movin' Right Along
New Construction. Garage/Studio in background w/ Larry's '55 Chevy
Our construction project is movin' right along. The foundation is in. The framing has started. We've been getting visits from plumbers and electricians. It's all very exciting.
Last week Larry and I got rid of our very old and broken down kingsize bed. We purchased trundle beds and are using those for the duration of construction. Eventually, the trundle will be put into the front bedroom as a couch and to be used by infrequent guests. Since our new bedroom addition is an extension of our current room, we will have to move those trundles into the living room toward the end of construction. Thrills. I can't wait to go kingsize bed shopping!
We've also purchased a newish washer and dryer for our new laundry room, which is part of the construction. Right now we have a duplex model washer/dryer in our very small back porch off the kitchen. Once we move the water heater outside and get the washer/dryer out of the back porch, I'll finally have room in there for the refrigerator, giving us more room for additional counter space in the kitchen. Every little piece of the puzzle is working out....finally. I've only lived in this house for 16 years....Larry for 20. I know that once our new bedroom is done I'll want to refresh the whole house. Got money?

Woohoo! It;s definitely coming along! You keep saying things that just about make me swoon - "laundry room" - be still my heart!
OMG it's so true. Once one part gets refreshened up, all the other parts start crying out "me next"! And in a few years the cycle starts all over again. But it sure is fun when the newness is there.
Enjoy all your yummy newness!

The room addition looks HUGE, Ellen. Congratulations on your progress.

Foundations down...it only goes up from there. Soon there will be walls!
This is so great. You deserve the kingiest of king beds! And a laundry ROOM? Devoted entirely to...laundry? Is this a newfangled idea? Heh. Exciting to see your new casa take shape.
