Las Vegas

Vintage Photo FridayLas Vegas Strip, 1969
Downtown Las Vegas, early 1970's

We've been in Las Vegas for the past few days. It's been 5 years since we've visited our friends, Jacquie and Bob in LV. Wow! Has this city changed! The new City Center is VERY modern and high-tech. We toured many of the hotels and shopping areas with Jacquie and Bob as our guides. The new areas do not feel like Las Vegas to me. Yes, the casinos are raucous and colorful, but other areas of the hotels are given more emphasis than the gambling rooms. The whole feel is very big-city and cosmopolitan. In fact, the new Cosmopolitan Hotel is super deluxe and swanky. We saw the largest chandelier in the world inside!

We had a wonderful time in Las Vegas. Thank you, Jacquie and Bob, for being such gracious hosts! More photos next week of our adventures.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy Mother's Day!

I LOVE Vegas! Mind you, I stay there for a maximum of 3 nights, and then I just have to leave, but I look forward to going again about once year. My favorite sight is the flower conservatory in the Bellagio, and I love shopping the the Fashion Show Mall.

Great pics. My fave part of LV are the fountains in front of the Bellagio; they only get turned on every 15 min or so but it's a great photo opportunity to get some cool pics.
