Par-tay!

Every time we're invited to visit the Village Green, we're there!  I love this National Historic Landmark.  It's an oasis in the middle of the City.  The shared park areas are serene and beautifully maintained.
Amy and Billy invited us to a going-away dinner party on Saturday for our friend, Dale.  Dale is moving to South Carolina with his lady-friend, Jo.  Jo was at the party, along with other L.A. friends, originally from South Carolina.  Larry and I were the only native Californians in attendance.  It was refreshing.

Billy is a masterful chef.  You must read his blog for cooking hints, tips and recipes.  Dale requested that the menu focus on Mexican cuisine.  I'm guessing Dale will be missing this delicious food once he moves to South Carolina.  Billy prepared a divine feast!  We had chunky guacamole, Carnitas tacos with all the toppings, Mexican Rice, Calabasitas (squash, zucchini and cheese stew), Frijoles and a host of alcoholic beverages!  All the highlighted dishes above link to Billy's recipes.

I brought dessert.  Since our return from Louisiana, I'd been anxious to try a few of Chef Patrick Mould's recipes.  On Saturday I made Chef's Chocolate Bread Pudding with Kahlua Cream Sauce.  I substituted dark chocolate for Chef's white chocolate.  Oh my!  It was rich and delicious.

We were a highly congenial group.  Everyone laughed a lot, told stories and generally had a fantastic time.  Every party at Amy's and Billy's house is comfortable, delicious and fun.  Thanks for inviting us!
