Low-Key Christmas
Very low-key "post-it note" gift tags
This year, we had a very low-key Christmas celebration. Larry and I woke up to a rainy day, switched on the "Yule Log" and opened up our little presents. Since we're spending TONS OF MONEY on our new master bedroom addition, we only bought small gifts for each other this year.
I gave Larry a warm and cozy L.L. Bean shirt that he requested, in addition to a pair of Fernwood Woolworks socks, some new shaving cream and a navy blue crocheted scarf.
Larry did quite well at the estate sales this year and bought me some great costume jewelry and some new socks too! We've got socks on the brain this year, it seems.
We spent about 4 hours at my Mom's and Step-Dad's house. They recently moved into a new apartment, so we were good little elves and hung paintings, clocks, towel racks and just generally re-arranged things so they'd be more comfortable.
Thanks to everyone who sent us beautiful holiday cards! Have a great weekend.

Love the Yule Log - thanks for the link! I'll save that one for next year for sure.
Sounds like a perfectly lovely way to celebrate the spirit of the season - no last minute craziness, sincere gifts, time with ones you love. Also, *gorgeous* scarf for Mr. Larry!! And socks. And your socks and jewels. :) Merry Happy.
Oh yes, I forgot about the Yule Log! I love it. We don't have a fireplace, so I'll definitely have to broadcast this next year.
Sounds like you had a wonderful and quiet Christmas, Ellen. Have a happy new year, too!
