Hexie-Bag Redo

I decided that I didn't like the edging on my hexagons for my Hexie Granny Bag. I took apart most of the hexies, crocheted up some new ones and re-assembled the bag. Phew! That was a fiber mess!
After re-assembling, I joined the hexies with aqua yarn and crocheted an extra join stitch between each crochet group. I like this look much better. Now, I'm crocheting a lining, double crochets with some leftover acrylic from this project. I'm not sure about the handles. I'll probably either crochet multi-striped flat handles or knit an i-cord with an inserted tube center to give it some stability.
Home-Front: Our room addition project is nearing completion. Larry has been painting quite a bit. I just love a workin' man with paint-stained hands!

I also am in love with your hexie bag..Can you point me to a website that will teach me how to crochet one.

Mr. Larry looks like he is getting more paint on himself than on the walls...;-).

Cute pics!! Thanks for sharing!!

Crochet a hexie that is, they look as thought they would be great to do and then come up with uses for them (bedspread/purses/maybe even a sham)

The new hexie version looks amazing!

Please tell your husband that if he'd like a decorating job in the UK, I have a bedroom that needs painting!!

Love the bag. I like the bright colors as opposed to what the original looked like.
I'm still on my bag kick. Love 'em!

LOVE the Mr. Larry pic!! He looks so cute, like he should be fronting some indie-rock band. Cute, *and* productive; I guess you should keep him. :)

FAB bag! Write up that pattern, you'll even get us slacker-crocheters to get out our hooks.
Impresssed that you even crochet the lining. wow!

Hexie bag is great! I also vote for the I-cord with tube insert.

I love the painting part of a remodel, prepping is not so fun, but the actual painting is so satisfying.

I was wondering what happened to the off white border on your hexies! I love the new look; it's absolutely perfect-o!

Your bag is absolutely grand. I too think an i-cord would work beautifully. I also vote for a pattern or how to. Thanks for sharing.

Yep, I agree: the new version is a keeper. So's that Mr. Larry. What a funny hat that guy is sportin'.

This is cool I would love to make this for my sister in law who would absolutely love this bag! Is there anyway of getting a pattern?

Sorry, I don't have a written pattern for this purse. The best you can do is count the hexagons and figure it out!
