Mother's Day Brunch
We had a good time on Mother's Day. Mom and Hal came over for our traditional lox and bagels. Breakfast was lovely. The addition of Trader Joe's Lemon Bars for dessert was inspired!
Hal brought over boxes of his old LPs for Larry. For young readers, LPs are Long Playing Records, 33-1/3 rpm. We have several turntables and Larry collects vintage vinyl and shellac records. We had fun going through all of the great titles. After breakfast and presents we listened to and sang along with some vintage Allan Sherman songs and the exotic sounds of "Taboo" by Arthur Lyman.
Labels: At Home, family, Food, Los Angeles, Memories, yarny stuff

I love the Mothers' Day accidental matchy-matchy! Your mom looks fabulous in her new scarf. The LP singalong must've been so fun.
Very nice spread too. I definitely have to try those lemon bars.
Sounds like a perfect way to spend Mothers Day. I'm kind of giggling at you explaining what LPs are, and also at myself for not realizing they needed explaining to plenty of people under 35.
Love your blog Ellen!!!
You two look fab together. The red Roz gris is beautiful.
Love Arthur Lyman.
Go Allan Sherman! Love the matchy matchy, you with your red glasses and Mom with her red scarf.
