World Wide Stitch in Public
This Saturday is the BIG day! World Wide Stitch in Public Day. There are events held around the world. Yeah, this is really a big deal! In the past decade, knitting and crocheting has experienced huge popularity. People are stitching like never before. It's cool to knit and/or crochet. On this day, we stitch in public to bring even MORE awareness to this wonderful activity.
Here's the link to the event that we're sponsoring. This is our regular West Hollywood Stitch 'n Bitch meet-up, on the second Saturday of the month, 10am to noon, Original Farmers Market, 3rd and Fairfax, upstairs dining area. I'm happy that MORE than our usual Saturday group will be attending. It would be great to have as many people as possible. Even if you don't knit, crochet, embroider or sew, show up and support the fiber arts! I'm providing a box o' Bob's doughnuts for the occasion!
I usually attend two events on this day, our WeHo SnB group and also the Fairview Knitters of Santa Monica. In the past, the Fairview Stitchers have met at Clover Park. It appears that Clover Park is holding another big event that day, so parking may be difficult. We will be holding our regular meeting in a semi-public place, the Community Room at the Fairview Library, 21st and Ocean Park, Santa Monica. This group meets from 3:30 to 5:30. Yes, there will be refreshments here too. Join us! Here are a few photos from past WWKIP events:
