Mom and Me, Japanese Garden. 1960 |
I'm not sure where this photo was taken. It is 1960. That's me on the right, Mom on the left. We're both wearing skirts, which might mean that we were going to other places that day where we would be required to "dress up." This is probably San Francisco. However, both the Huntington Library Gardens in San Marino and the Descanso Gardens in the La CaƱada - Flintridge area have Japanese Gardens with arched bridges. We went on lots of field trips when I was young. Does anyone recognize the foliage or particular bridge in this photo? Let me know in the comments below.
