Ukulele Christmas Orchestra
We had a grand time on Friday night at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion with the Ukulele Christmas Orchestra. I met up with Natalie, Angela and Lilia to strum some holiday tunes. I do believe there were about 200 ukesters at this festive event. We were a bit rushed with our instruction and playing time, because there was a performance of L.A. Opera's "Magic Flute" at 8:30!

Crochet and ukulele compliment each other! I spotted these adorable crocheted hats, worn by some fellow ukesters. We also saw our ol' yarny pal, Shannita who works for the L.A. Opera.

After the performance, we were rushed out of the Chandler by way of the President's exit....down a few flights of stairs, through a side door, out to the Plaza where a lovely dessert, coffee and cocoa table awaited us. The tree and decorations at the Music Center this year are beautiful.
The Music Center is definitely uke-centric. During the summer we attended free workshops with excellent teachers. I'm sure they are planning more ukulele events for 2014. Sign up for their newsletter!
