Vintage Photo Friday

The Ever-Cool Larry (right) and his beach buddies

Here is the soundtrack for today's post. These are photos from Larry's archives of he and his friends hangin' out in their Sherman Oaks neighborhood in 1965.

Larry zooming down Dickens Street, Sherman Oaks

Looking at these pix of Larry skateboarding down the sidewalk takes me right back to those same times on the other side of the hill. Larry and I are six months apart in age. We both grew up in L.A. We experienced so many of the same cultural happenings. I'm sure that if we had grown up in the same neighborhood, we would have known each other back then. Sigh.

Have a great weekend! More Vintage Photos here.

Hahaha!

All the little boys have hair that look like surf waves! How appropriate!

:) Down in the OC, we had similar boys, but none so cool as Larry and his buds.

HAH! My word verif. is "sillycol", as in, "Larry and his boyeez are silly COOL!"

Wow....

And here I thought all that California Dreamin' stuff from the mid-60's was just that.

Great stuff, as usual, Ellen, thanks.

The skateboard photo reminds me of my old skateboard ( heavy wood with metal wheels)- memories. By the way you are always sharing your food experiences. I had the best omelet at CJ's Pantry in Redondo Beach - along with some great breakfast potatoes. I hope to be at the Farmer's Market next saturday to visit the knitting group there - thanks for the info.

That hair is amazing! It instantly places the picture at a very specific time and place. I love it!
