We met up with Brit and Dan at Tacos Por Favor on Saturday night before hitting the art shows at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. Brit recently had shoulder surgery and has been layin' low for awhile. It was good to see her out and about!

Tacos Por Favor is low on atmosphere, but high on the food meter. We had various dishes: Chicken Sope, Shrimp Tacos, Chile Relleno Plate, Spinach & Egg Burrito. Everything was delicious!

We zoomed over to the Copro Art Gallery at Bergamot for the High Fructose Group Show. It was filled with cool low-brow paintings and sculpture, artists and fans. Outside the gallery there were two food trucks, Lomo Arigato and Don Gow.
Art, Ellen, BritAfter checking out the show at Copro, we wandered around the Bergamot campus for awhile. There's always cool stuff for sale at the Gallery of Functional Art. We saw some furniture made from bottle corks, a rope-wrapped dog, a metal dress and some interesting how-to books!
We strolled back toward the Copro Gallery at around 9 and a band called Black Widow was performing just outside the gallery. They played all instrumental songs, were wearing black Ninja outfits and each covered their heads and faces with a black stocking. Scary, but cool.
Black Widow BandA few minutes later, about 300 bicylists rode up the driveway from 26th street. Some of the kids were wearing animal hats, Indian headresses, warpaint, chicken outfits and more. It was quite a happenin' scene!
Bikers and Food Trucks
After all that activity on Saturday, along with two SnB groups earlier in the day, I was exhausted on Sunday. All I could manage to do was host yet another SnB group! AND, this time change has made me snoozy and lethargic today!

That Gallery of Functional Art looks super cool! Especially that cork chair.
I like that art, do you know who did the painting near the face sculpture? Or is there a website I could look at for a closer view.
Hey Bishop, That painting you're seeing in the background is hanging at the Copro Art Gallery in Santa Monica. Just send then an e-mail and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you about the artist.
Nice artwork. The face of the woman for me is the most unique or eye catcher.
